Deer Grotto
Project: Deer Grotto
Designed by Visiondivision
Visiondivision was commissioned to build a house among a group of cottages from the 18th century. The client wanted the house to blend in with this environment, especially from one side where the client’s conservative mother has her cottage and watchful eyes. We therefore made a building that blends in so good that it is almost invisible.

Solar City Tower in Rio de Janeiro
Project: Solar City Tower for Rio Olympics 2016
Designed by RAFAA
Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
The aim of this project is to ask how the classic concept of a landmark can be reconsidered. It is less about an expressive, iconic architectural form; rather, it is a return to content and actual, real challenges for the imminent post-oil-era.
This project represents a message of a society facing the future; thus, it is the representation of an inner attitude. Our project, standing in the tradition of “a building/city as a machine”, shall provide energy both to the city of Rio de Janeiro and its citizens while using natural resources. We hope to attain an international Olympic message with a political appeal. After hosting the United Nation’s Earth Summit in 1992, Rio de Janeiro will once again be the starting point for a global green movement and for a sustainable development of urban structures. It will perhaps even become a symbol for the first zero carbon footprint Olympic Games.

Embassy of Czech Republic
Project: Embassy of Czech Republic in USA
Designed by Chalupa Architekti
Location: 3900 Spring of Freedom St. NW, Washington D.C. USA
The design of the embassy of the Czech Republic pays tribute to its unique natural setting, and the building itself is only an adjunct, not the main actor. Its form divides the site into three separate parts.
Firstly What emerges is a representational circular driveway space, the austere elegance of which underlines the drapery-like front facade made of frosted glass.
Secondly, it creates a private garden space linked to the apartments and offices use for more working-like meetings.
